Having taught children’s church for many years, and having written numerous children’s books, it has been a dream to place all four books of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) into one book that reads like a novel. The First Edition of this book was the fulfillment of that dream. This 2nd Edition is a larger print (16 Font), easier to read edition. The larger print is for students (children and adults alike) to be able to read in a classroom setting. It is also 1 1/2 spacing, which helps in a classroom. The easier to read version means it takes out archaic punctuation, shortens long sentences, and changes phrases such as “He said unto them…” to “He said to them…,” and Whosoever shall…” to “Whoever shall…”, and other such minor modifications for more readable modern English.
The basic style of the New King James Bible was kept in this 2nd Edition, too. However, this narrative also reads like a novel with chapters, paragraphs, and quotation makes around what is spoken, hence the title: The Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John; One Novel Narrative, 2nd Edition.
This narrative is not written for formal purposes or to influence or set doctrine. It is simply a book about Jesus that people can read like a novel. It is meant to be a help. If you want to read the “real” thing, read the Gospels in the Bible. If this book helps, read it too.
This book is available as an e-book on Kindle, or in paperback.
